Rotating a Video on a Mac

If you are using a Mac computer and need to rotate a video, using QuickTime Player is our recommended solution.  Use the following steps to rotate a video in QuickTime Player:

  1. Open QuickTime Player. A dialog box may open allowing you to search and find your video that needs rotation.  If a box does not appear select “File” from the top menu and Open file.  Then select the appropriate video for rotation.
  2. Once the video has been added, select “Edit” from the top menu and choose either Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Flip Horizontal, or Flip Vertical depending on your needs
  3. When you have the proper orientation of the video, you will want to save it. Select the “File” menu and then select Export.  Choose an appropriate export format from the list and save the file.
  4. The video will then begin the exporting/saving process. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the video.

You have now successfully rotated a video using QuickTime Player.
