The applicant informed me they sent me the request, why isn't it in my inbox?

The first thing to do is check your spam or junk folders, often these emails can end up there. The email is sent automatically by our system, and comes from recommendations@decisiondesk.com. It also may help to add this email address to your safe/contacts list. If you still cannot find the email request, it may be best to provide the applicant with an alternate email address to use in their application. Often, email addresses that are associated with a university, or place of work can have stringent security policies that may potentially prevent the email from being received. 

Why won't the link I was sent load in my browser?

Try reloading the webpage in your browser, this often resolves the issue. The page should load quickly, but if more than 5-10 seconds have passed, it may be time to refresh the page.

This may be an issue with the browser itself. We currently support versions of Google Chrome 13+ (highly recommended), Mozilla Firefox 3.6+, Apple Safari 6+, Internet Explorer 10+, and Microsoft Edge. Even if you're using one of these three, make sure each is completely up to date, as out of date web browsers can cause these issues. You can also try clearing your browsing history.

If none of these work for you, please submit a support request ticket. Include the name of the applicant, the university and/or program to which he or she is applying, and attach your letter.

Why am being asked to answer such strange questions?

Each recommendation form is built out to the specifications each school or program has provided us with. In short, each one is going to be different! 

Some recommendation forms will have required questions, denoted by a red asterisk. The form will not be able to be submitted without these questions being answered. Some may be dropdown selects, others may be short answer fields. Please fill them out to the best of your ability. 

How do I attach my letter?*

When it comes time to attach your letter you should see the word "Browse" next to the space where your file will upload. Click "Browse", and you will be able to navigate your computer's folders and select the file to upload.

You may upload any of these file types - PDF, TXT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF

*Note; not all recommendation forms will have the option to attach a document.

If you see a simple text box, you may type your comments on the applicants here. If you do have a saved letter prepared, you may copy and paste the contents into this box. 

How do I submit the recommendation?

After completing all of the required fields in the form, click "submit" at the bottom of the page and you will be able to review your recommendation prior to making the final submit. Upon making the final submission you will receive confirmation within the browser that the form has been submitted successfully as well as an email to confirm this.

Can I make changes to the recommendation after it has been submitted?

The recommendation form cannot be edited after it has been submitted. If you have made an error you will need to write to to support@decisiondesk.com so that we can assist you in making corrections or submitting a new form.
